Judge & McGruder finally produce on the same night for K-State.

Jacob Pullen and Curtis Kelly were suspeneded by the NCAA for taking impermissible benefits in the form of clothing from a local department store. So Coach Frank Martin need big contributions from everyone to hold off UMKC (University of Missouri-Kansas City). His two sophmores Rodney McGruder and Wally Judge who played together since AAU had successfully recorded great stats on the same night. Both were highly recruited by Frank Martin and his staff.
Small forward Rodney McGruder was stepping outside to make a career-high seven three-pointers on his way to 24 points, Wally Judge registered a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
They took the game over UMKC 80-64 snapping their 2 game losing streak.

Georgetown arguably has the best 3 guard combo in the country.

John Thompson III has done his job recruiting talent within his backyard. He has 3 of the best guards in the country all from the DMV area. Jason Clark, Chris Wright, and Austin Freeman are all veterans within the program. They have come to accept and learn how to play within their Princeton style offense. It is an offense of strategy which emphasizes constant motion, passing, and back-door cuts. As teams try to keep them from getting open back door cuts, they have forgotten to cover the 3pt line. Between Clark, Freeman, and Wright they are shooting an outstanding 44% from the 3pt line.

Austin Freeman: 18.5ppg  2.5rpg  2.1apg
Jason Clark: 14.2ppg  4.2rpg  1.8apg  1.7spg
Chris Wright: 13.2ppg  6.7apg  2.8rpg  2spg

The Hoyas are now 10-1 after a recent loss to Temple. Nevertheless the Hoyas aren’t the #15 team in the country for no reason. This is a team without depth from the bench, so they heavily depend on this trio to show up and perform highly every night and so far they have not disappointed. They have played 11 games and in 10 of those games, one of these guards has led the team in scoring.
Georgetown won their last game versus Loyola (Md) at home 99-75. They have protected home court and are 5-0 in the Verizon Center.
They have tough task at hand on Dec 23rd when they go into Memphis. This should be a great matchup, with two teams who have great guard play.

Josh Selby makes the best of his debut.

Selby after being suspended by the NCAA for nine games, came back today to help his Kansas Jayhawks contiune their 66 home game winning streak.
Selby was 5-8 from the 3pt line today, but no shot was bigger than his game clinching one. With 26 seconds left on the clock, the ball swung to Selby and he raised up and drained a deep 3 pointer to put Kansas up over USC 69-68. The Jayhawks were able to hold off USC with some great defense with seconds remaining.

McGruder has been hot from deep lately.

Kansas State has won all of their 4 games after losing to #1 Duke, making them 8-1 on the season. The main reason they are is because of Rodney McGruder. McGruder has had 3 double digit games out of the last 4. He has been hot from behind the arc shooting 12-23 (52%).

Frank Martin has even been satisfied with McGruder's play saying "I am not happy with what we are getting from our twos so I figured it was time to try someone else,” said Martin. “I am not very happy now with our wing play, with the exception of Rodney McGruder."

Rodney stats: 11.3ppg  6.6rpg  2.1apg  1.0spg

They have a tough test against Florida on 12/18, which should be a good matchup between Kenny Boynton and McGruder.
