Robinson sets career highs in points and rebounds

Robinson was 10 of 14 from the field and 9 of 12 from the free throw line. In one play in the first half, he surprised the beleaguered North Dakota defense by hitting a long 3-pointer. The 30 points surpassed the 26 he scored against Long Beach State and the 21 rebounds erased the personal best of 18 he had against Davidson earlier this season.

Robinson said he worked every day with one goal: “To be the best player in the country.”

Victor Oladipo - Stetson v Indiana

Indiana became the ninth team since 1996-97 to beat No. 1 and No. 2 in the same season and joined Kansas in 2007-08 and Louisville in 2003-04 as the only teams over that span to achieve the feat in the same month. Against Kentucky, the Hoosiers needed a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Christian Watford to win it.
On Saturday, the Hoosiers needed Oladipo's layup, three free throws from Hulls and Watford, a rebound from Watford and a steal from Oladipo in the final 36 seconds to seal it.

Outside of Clark, who scored a game-high 16 on 50 percent shooting, the Hoyas starters were miserable offensively, combining to go just 8-for-30 from the field. Most troubling was the ineffectiveness of Sims. Sims started the year on a tear offensively, often stepping in as the key cog in driving the offense from the post where he dominated with his post game and his decision making.

Atkins has began to play a bigger role for UVA

Indeed, Tuesday night was more about evaluating the growth of players like Darion Atkins and the potential of players like Jesperson. What exactly can they give Virginia once conference play begins a week from Saturday? That remains somewhat uncertain, but at least we came a little closer to finding out.

Specifically for Atkins, who prior to Tuesday mostly had received playing time in chunks, this game was important for him to be able to get into a rhythm on the floor. He played a career-high 20 minutes.

“I felt more comfortable, obviously,” Atkins said. “Everyone saw that. I just felt like I’m building chemistry with the guys on the court, and I’m just getting a little bit more comfortable with my game. It was a lot of fun.”
