Bowie State is 4-0 on the backs of Clark & Vann

The Bulldogs are on a roll, they are 4-0 and have played a tough schedule. They have beat to top 25 teams in Clark Alanta University and Indiana Pennsylvania University. In addition they are missing their former defensive player of the year in 7 foot Travis Hyman. So look for the bulldogs to only get better as the season goes along.


Darren Clark is a former Largo High School player, is now playing for the bulldogs after tranferring from Lincoln University (PA) this year.
Clark right now is averaging 17.8 ppg  3.8 rpg  3.2 apg



Eric Vann is a former Gwynn Park High School player. He attended Prince Georges Community College before going to Bowie State and was a Juco All-American.
Vann is now averaging 20.3 ppg  3.0 rpg  3.1 spg

Galloday & Baber produce for The Mount even in a loss

Mount St. Mary's built an eight-point second-half lead but was edged at Niagara, 65-63, Monday night at the Gallagher Center.
The Mount had a chance to win at the buzzer, but freshman Julian Norfleet's 3-point attempt was long.

Freshaman David Galladay had 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting to pace the Mount while Lamar Trice and Raven Barber added 13 points each Raven Barber added 13 points each. Barber added a career high nine rebounds for the Mount, going 6-of-6 from the field. Five of Barber's six field goals in the game were dunks.

The Mount held a 49-41 after a Golladay three-pointer with just over 12 minutes left in the game. Niagara responded with a 7-0 run to get back in the game and tied the score at 53-53 with 7:40 on the clock.
Golladay gave the Mount a 56-53 advantage with a traditional three-point play with 7:16 left in the second half. Niagara's Jones answered with a traditional three-point play on the next possession to even the score. Niagra had a couple late scores and few stops to put them ahead. Late in the game with a few seconds The Mount had a chance to win at the buzzer, but freshman Julian Norfleet's 3-point attempt was long.

Kris Joseph, Syracuse Barely Avoid Upset Against William & Mary

Kris Joseph helped keep No. 10 Syracuse from giving William & Mary its first win of the season in shocking fashion.

Joseph scored 18 points, including four of the Orange's last five, as No. 10 Syracuse (4-0) held off William & Mary (0-3) 63-60 . .....

Josh Selby is now back in practice but has to miss 9 games


Kansas freshman guard Josh Selby must sit out nine regular-season games for accepting improper benefits, the NCAA announce Friday. He will be eligible to play Dec. 18 against Southern California.......


6 former DC Assualt players suited up in the Kansas State vs Duke Matchup

#1 Duke faced a tough opponent in #4 Kansas State in the championship of O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic It was a tough and grind it out game, but Duke led all 40 minutes. Early in the second half Kansas State pulled within 3 points but the Blue Devils remained solid and maintained a comfortable lead. Duke had a stellar performance from freshman point guard Kyrie Irving, along veteran guard Nolan Smith. They both led their team in scoring with 17 points and recording 5 rebounds apiece. A tough nosed Duke team frustrated and did a good of containing Kansas States players all night holding Wally Judge scoreless. Also, they slowed down K-State's leading scorers in Jacob Pullen (3pts) and Rodney McGruder (7pts). Jamar Samuels came to play recording 12pts 6rebs.In Duke's first game versus a ranked opponent they came to  played all pulled out a 82-68 victory

Tyler Thornton and Josh Hairston played sparingly, but look for them to come along as the season progresses

Brandon Young career at Depaul looks bright.

Young in season opener orchestrated his team to a victory over Northwood 107-62. The Blue Demons looked well, having 5 players in double figures. One of those players was Young, he played 25 minutes. His stats were 5-9 fg 6-10 ft equaling 17pts, 4ast, 3reb, 3stls, 3to.

Young in his next appearance they played Lewis College. Young struggled slightly with 6 costly turnovers, but being a freshman in only his second collegiate it is understandable. They took a loss to Lewis 70-68. Brandon stats were 4-7 fg 10pts, 2ast, 3reb, 5stls, 6to.

GW’s Lasan Kromah out with indefinitely with foot injury


......Kromah sprained his left foot last month.
The school said Friday he will likely need surgery......

In season opener Jackson leads Morgan State to victory





Morgan State played a tough opener against Loyola Marymount on friday night. Loyola Marymount led 58-43 with just under 14 minutes to play. The Bears erased a that 15-point second-half deficit behind a torrid night from Jackson, who was 7 of 11 from the 3-point line and 10 of 18 overall.
Morgan State pulled out a 81-79 victory.

Chris Braswell makes solid performance against South Carolina State.

The SCST Bulldogs never led after the final seconds in the first half. Chris Baswell was a big time contributor in their win. He took limted shots, but managed to goto the charity strike 17 times making 11 of them. He played 23 minutes shooting 2-4 fg, 15 points, 7 reb, 1stl in their 90-81 victory.

Rodney McGruder leads K-State in scoring as they surpass Washbun Univ.


Rodney McGruder led with a game-high 18 points, the Kansas State men’s basketball team closed out the exhibition portion of the 2010-11 season with a 90-44 drubbing of the Washburn Ichabods.

McGruder, who only missed on field goal attempt in the contest, was on fire from beyond the arc, draining all five of his attempts in the game. Overall, the Wildcats converted on 45.5 percent of their 3-point shots, hitting 10-of-22 from downtown.


 



Indiana goes into overtime with Division 2 school Ferris State
