#1 Duke faced a tough opponent in #4 Kansas State in the championship of O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic It was a tough and grind it out game, but Duke led all 40 minutes. Early in the second half Kansas State pulled within 3 points but the Blue Devils remained solid and maintained a comfortable lead. Duke had a stellar performance from freshman point guard Kyrie Irving, along veteran guard Nolan Smith. They both led their team in scoring with 17 points and recording 5 rebounds apiece. A tough nosed Duke team frustrated and did a good of containing Kansas States players all night holding Wally Judge scoreless. Also, they slowed down K-State's leading scorers in Jacob Pullen (3pts) and Rodney McGruder (7pts). Jamar Samuels came to play recording 12pts 6rebs.In Duke's first game versus a ranked opponent they came to played all pulled out a 82-68 victory
Tyler Thornton and Josh Hairston played sparingly, but look for them to come along as the season progresses
